Our first major project for the new house in Alameda is to insulate. We discovered the first few nights in the new home it held heat about as well as a tent. Upon further inspection we discovered there was zero insulation in the attic.
We weighed the various options to insulate and decided on cocoon cellulose blown in insulation. It is economical, environmentally friendly, has a high R-value and we don’t have to do any cutting and fitting.
We found the local Lowes carried the insulation and rented the blower.
By the time we finished half of the house was covered in cellulose dust including us.
