The shortened window over the dinette has been leaking through the rubber glazing rotting the wall and floor below. This is a critical leak to fix before I put in new flooring.
My first call to find a replacement seal for the rubber glazing was Luke at US Coach but unfortunately he did not carry it. The only way I could find a replacement would be to disassemble the window, measure the old seal profile and then search for it online.
The closest thing I could find was from CR Lawrence part number #AV4588 hopefully that one works. I went to CR Lawrence in Renton, WA but they would not sell to me so I found a seller on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q60DQ8 and ordered a spool.
Removing the window was quite a task. The hinge pin put up quite a fight even after soaking with PB blaster multiple times. I had to use a drift pin and hammer along with an assortment of stainless steel screws of different lengths I could thread into the pin. The frame had a number of stubborn screws but a combination of soaking in PB Blaster and hitting with a torch, I was able to disassemble.
Since I had the frame apart, this would be a good time to polish the aluminum. After a couple hours into it I decided it would be better to sent to a professional so I dropped of the frames at a local polish and plating shop http://www.metlfin.com . Looking forward to see how they turned out. That is all for now. Now I wait for the polishing, rubber glazing, and new stainless screws to re-assemble the frame.
