The day started off with a trip to Home Depot in the U-Haul truck I rented for yesterday’s dump run and today’s building supply run. Every time I pull into the Home Depot with a U-Haul truck I get the red carpet treatment from the welcoming committee. There had to be 50 guys hanging out in the lawn strips along the entrance to the parking lot that all jumped up waving their hands in the air and practically jumping out in front of me. Mary was following behind and has to swerve to avoid them. They must have been really happy to see me this time.
We gathered up the Sheetrock, plywood, 2X4’s, insulation and some primer. All the walls and ceiling for the laundry room fit on one cart.

We don’t have hurricanes but we do occasionally have earthquakes. As part of the process of adding shear strength to the support structure of the house I also like to make sure the floor joists are tied down as well.
