Even though we had a 3 day Labor Day weekend, our time was booked with many social events that we didn’t get much done in the yard.
After piecing together the flagstone it turned out we were a bit short. (About 200 lbs short) We picked up some more stone from U-Save Rockery in Hayward. Turns out they are not affiliated with the U-Save Rockery in San Jose, or at least not for the past few years. We found that they get some of their stone from some of the same quarries so they had the starlight flagstone we were after. Due to some color variations Mary had to re-arrange all the previous stones to blend the new ones in. By Monday I was able to level them up and set them with a little mortar for stability.
In a couple weeks we will fill the gaps with potting soil and plant some elfin thyme (Thymus praecox ‘Elfin’) to fill in between the stones.
